Pilates with Rhea is proud to serve clients throughout San Antonio and neighboring communities, creating a welcoming space where movement, individualized instruction, and genuine connection come together. We provide thoughtful Pilates, GYROTONIC®, and movement education that helps people build a lifelong relationship with movement.
As our community grows, so does our team of instructors, each carefully selected for their
technical expertise, professionalism, and commitment to the philosophy that guides our studio.
Our goal isn't simply to teach Pilates.
It's to help people move through life with greater strength, ease, and confidence.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Movement should meet you where you are.
Whether you're recovering from injury, living with scoliosis, navigating osteoporosis, improving athletic performance, preparing for pregnancy, or simply hoping to move with less pain, our instruction begins with understanding your unique body and goals.
We believe a sustainable mindful movement practice looks different for every individual.

RHEA PATTERSON
Founder, Studio/Education Director, Lead Instructor
NCPT, GYROTONIC® Apprentice
Movement has been the constant thread throughout Rhea Patterson's life. Beginning dance at the age of two, she went on to earn a BFA in Dance Performance, tour internationally as a contemporary dancer, and spend more than a decade performing on Broadway, where Pilates became an essential part of maintaining strength, resilience, and longevity throughout a demanding career.
After completing more than 500 hours of comprehensive Pilates teacher training under Jennifer DeLuca at BodyTonic Pilates Gymnasium in Brooklyn, Rhea founded The Pilates Suite in San Antonio before expanding her vision into Pilates with Rhea. She continues to deepen her education through Heritage Training and the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, blending technical precision with an intuitive, compassionate approach to movement.
Rhea believes movement is one of the most powerful tools for improving both physical and mental well-being. Her teaching emphasizes curiosity over perfection, helping clients build strength, confidence, and trust in their bodies through personalized movement instruction.
Today, Rhea's greatest passion is building a studio where exceptional movement education can reach more people through a collaborative team of highly qualified instructors who share her commitment to individualized care.
PERSONALIZED WELLNESS AT HOME & WORK

LISA CANDLAND
Instructor
NCPT
Movement began as play for Lisa: turning underwater somersaults with friends as mermaids, hanging from the backyard swing set like monkeys, and twirling like a ballerina in her bedroom. As she grew older, experiences in PE class, church volleyball, softball with the neighbors, and even being unable to carry her own ski equipment gradually changed the way she understood her body. She never stopped moving, but she often felt that she was not strong enough, fast enough, or powerful enough. Her body seemed to hold her back from doing the things she loved.
Injury, postpartum changes, and hypermobility deepened that belief in adulthood. Finding mind-body practices began to change both her body and her perspective. Movement became fun again, even joyful, and sparked an insatiable curiosity about how bodies work. Pilates offered Lisa structure and order, and within that structure she rediscovered a sense of play she had not felt in years. On the mat, Lisa is a mermaid again. On the tower, she is a monkey. In the leg springs, she is a dancer. Her teaching is grounded in the belief that Pilates can help clients build a more trusting, capable relationship with their bodies, whatever their starting point or history may be.
Sharing the challenge and craft of Pilates with others is a gift to Lisa, and it is genuinely fun. She brings curiosity, playfulness, and a deep respect for each client's individual experience to her work at the studio.

Brittany’s goal is to provide others with a positive movement experience! She has a personal passion for movement and desires to share that passion with others. Brittany believes in empowering individuals to take ownership of movement in their own lives, broadening their perspective on what movement is and how it can play a positive role in experiencing life to the fullest.
